Some or any biasa digunakan Ketika orang tidak bisa menyebutkan jumlah ( benda ) yang dimagsudkan

Some : biasa digunakan dalam kalimat positif  dan a limited number or amount (jumlah terbatas)

-       -    He has some examples of polymers. (some, positive sentence)
-          Would you like some more coffee? (offering something)
-          Would you mind giving me some more coffee? (requesting something)
-          I read some book yesterday
-          I read some yesterday
-          Do you have some onion ?
-          I want to make some chocolate cake for my daughter birthday, do you have some chocolate milk?
-          I want some diet coke for tonight when we watching football
-          I see some pizza on the table

Any : biasa digunakan dalam kalimat negatif dan kalimat tanya dan unlimited number or amount (jumlah tak terbatas). Atau seseatu yang tidak spesifik.

For example :

-         -  I don’t have any good idea. (any, negative sentence)
-          Do you have any good idea? (I don’t know if you have any good idea)
-          She stopped giving any gifts on my birthday. (She didn’t give any gifts on my birthday)
-          Would you mind giving me some more coffee? (requesting something)
-          Is there any room available ?
-          Is there any available
-          She eats any kind of pizza
-          She didn’t buy any tomatoes
-          You can take any bus
-          Give me any spoon

Any juga dapat digunakan pada kalimat positif yang mengandung arti negative, terutama ketika kalimatnya mengandung never, hardly, without;

-        -   She never eats any fruit (dia tidak pernah makan buah apapun)
-          We hardly watch any game (kami tidak bisa menonton game apapun)
-          Julia left the house without any money (Julia meninggalkan rumah tanpa seperser uangpun).
-          She never call any of her friend since graduation day (dia tidak pernah menekfon satupun dari temannya setelah hari kelulusan)
-          They hardly clean any table for the guests (mereka tidak bisa membersihkan meja manapun untuk para tamu).
-          My mother sleeping without any blanket on the couch (ibuku tidur di sofa tanpa sehelai selimutpun)
