Too & Enough ( English Tips )

 



 

 T : Today we are going to focus on using “too and “ enough”to describe features of the city

Lets start with “too” to say  that something is more than what is needed or wanted for example “ the city is too noisy “ this means the noise is more than what is comfortable

Do you understand how “ too” is used?

S: yes, I understand. I’m too tired of working today. Im too stupid to understand what they did. Im to less experienced for the knowledge of the English

T : youre doing well with using “too” just a couple of a small adjustment

  • 1.       Im too tired of working today
  • 2.       Im too inexperienced to have the knowledge of English

The second sentence “ Im too stupid to understand what they did, is gramactically correct, but let use a more positive example “ im too curious to ignore what they did”

Would you to try making another sentence with too ?

S : yes, im ready to make another sentence with you

T : awesome ! how about describing something about city life ? for example “ the traffic is too heavy” give it a try

S : for this year, the petrol is too expensive and the rice also too expensive, and from my house to my workplace, it’s not too far

 

T : great effort, here are small adjustment to make your sentence clearer

1.       This year petrol is too expensive and rice is also too expensive

2.       From my house to my workplace “its not too far”

 

T : youre doing well ! now lets move on to “Enough” we use enough to say that something is sufficient or adequate. For example the city is big enough for everyone”

Do you understand how “enough” is used ?

S : yes, I understand for the external life. Im not enough for salary for one month. Im not enough for the money for a month. Im not enough for everthing in life.

T : you’re using enough well, here some slight adjustment to make your sentences clearer :

1.      My salary is not enough for one month
2.       I don’t have enough money for one month
3.       I don’t have enough for  everthing in life

T : youre doing a great a job ! would like to try another sentence using  “enough” ?

S : yes im ready to try explain again

T : great ! how about describing something positive about city like using “ enough “ for example

The city has enough parks for everyone to enjoy” give it a try

 

S : okay, I want to try for the city is enough beach for enjoying the holiday and also for the city is enough parks for enjoying some activity like jogging, exercising and for my city also enough café to enjoying some coffee and im also like my city because its enough sports activity to enjoy my holiday.

T : youre doing well with your sentences ! lets refine them a bit for clarity :

1.       The city has enough places to enjoy the holidays
2.       The city has enough park for activities like a jogging and exercising
3.       My city also has enough cafes to enjoy some coffee
4.       I like my city because it has enough sports activities to enjoy my holidays
